LibValue & UT at ALA Midwinter Meeting, January 25-29, 2013

During the ALA Midwinter Meeting's Library Assessment Forum, Steven Smith, Regina Mays, and Teresa Walker will give a panel presentation discussing their work with the LibValue project at the University of Tennessee and their efforts to demonstrate the value of the library.  (The Library Assessment Forum will be held from 1:30 to 3:00 on Friday, January 25.)   Steve Smith, Dean of the UTK Library, will discuss how the value and return on investment studies are used from the perspective of the dean, including how he has used them to support the library, how it meets the needs of an outcome-based budgeting model, and how his campus leadership has responded.  Regina Mays will discuss a similar perspective from an assessment librarians' point of view, and Teresa Walker will demonstrate how the LibValue work has been used to assess student success in relation to the use of the learning commons environment.   Presentation Link:  https://www.libqual.org/documents/LibQual/publications/2013/LAF_ALAMidwinter2013.pdf
